TAC hosted a meaningful event to mark the International Women's Day week. The renowned poet and writer Sunay Akın, holder of the well deserved title in Turkiye as the “guardian of collective memory”, met with TAC students with the invitation of the Turkish Language and Literature Department.
The talk held in the school’s Talas Auditorium was a scene to unforgettable moments as Akın took the audience on a journey of literature, history, and social memory with his compelling narrative and story telling. Akın captivated students and teachers with striking examples, particularly on the place of women in society and the roles they have undertaken throughout history.
The talk in the auditorium was followed by book signing where he continued to talk with his younger readers. Akın expressed his pleasure to see that his motto, "books guide people in the right direction”, really resonated with young individuals of TAC.
The event, which reflected a unique narrative style and rich stories, ended with commemorative photos to immortalize the day.
